Email Replies Quick Start Guide

Get up and running with Fabius email replies in just a few minutes. This guide covers the essential steps to start using AI-powered email assistance.

5-Minute Setup

Important: You must complete BOTH steps below for email replies to work properly:
  1. Connect Gmail in Fabius (for server-side email processing)
  2. Install the Gmail Add-on (for viewing drafts in Gmail)

Step 1: Connect Gmail in Fabius

  1. Log in to Fabius at app.fabius.io
  2. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  3. Find Gmail and click Connect
  4. Authorize Fabius to access your Gmail account
  5. Wait for the connection status to show “Connected”

Step 2: Install Gmail Add-on

  1. Go directly to Fabius in Google Workspace Marketplace
  2. Click Install
  3. Accept the required permissions
  4. The Fabius icon will appear in your Gmail sidebar
Important Notes:
  • Fabius is not yet searchable in the marketplace, so you must use the direct link above
  • If you see “Access Denied” or cannot install, contact your Fabius representative to request access
  • During beta, installation permissions are granted on a per-user basis

Step 3: Authenticate in Gmail

  1. Click the Fabius icon in Gmail
  2. Click “Sign In” when prompted
  3. Complete authentication with your Fabius account
  4. Return to Gmail

Step 4: Track Your First Email

  1. Open an email from a CRM contact
  2. Click the Fabius icon
  3. If not tracked, click “Track Email”
  4. Future emails in this thread will generate drafts

Step 5: Use Your First Draft

  1. When a new email arrives, wait 1-2 minutes
  2. Open the email and click Reply to open Gmail compose
  3. Click the Fabius compose action to open the compose modal
  4. Review Alternate Versions and click “Update Current Draft” to insert
  5. Edit and personalize before sending
Note: When inserting a draft via the compose modal, the draft includes a helper line that says “DELETE EVERYTHING BELOW THIS LINE”. Remove that line and anything below it before sending. (Drafts created server‑side by Fabius do not include this helper line.)

Reduce Noise: Set up email exclusions to prevent drafts for automated emails like GitHub notifications, Slack alerts, and marketing messages. This keeps your drafts focused on real customer conversations.
